Position Summary
Spring Footwear Corp. is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Staff Accountant (AP, A/R & Property Accounting) to join our Accounting team. This role requires full-time, on-site presence; remote or hybrid work arrangements are not offered. This position combines accounts payable, accounts receivable, expense management, and property accounting/real estate management responsibilities and plays a key role in ensuring timely payments, accurate financial records, and regulatory compliance across the company and its real estate portfolio.
Breakdown of focus:
- 50% Accounts Payable & Core Accounting
- 25% Accounts Receivable & Cash Application
- 25% Property Accounting & Real Estate Operations
What You’ll Own
Accounts Payable & Core Accounting (50%)
- Process high-volume vendor invoices with precision and accountability
- Execute payments (ACH, wires, checks, AMEX) with full documentation and controls
- Reconcile bank accounts and identify discrepancies—fast
- Manage AMEX, employee expenses, and vendor statements
- Maintain clean, accurate vendor master data
- Drive efficiency (ex: shift vendors from check → ACH)
- Support month-end close and reporting
Accounts Receivable (25%)
- Apply cash (checks, ACH) and keep ledgers clean from our customer Key/Independent/ Retail
- Own A/R aging—follow up, resolve, collect
- Investigate short pays and unapplied cash
- Credit line management and Risk Management
Property Accounting & Real Estate (25%)
- Manage rent billing, collections, and tenant accounts
- Track utilities, vendor costs, and property expenses
- Handle tenant communication (billing, insurance, compliance)
- Stay on top of permits, violations, and NYC regulatory requirements
- Maintain financial clarity across all real estate activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3–5 years of real, hands-on accounting experience
- Strong systems experience (QuickBooks required, OMS a plus)
- Advanced Excel skills (you should be fast and confident)
- Organized, detail-obsessed, and highly accountable
- Able to work independently without constant supervision
- Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, multi-task environment
