We are looking for an energetic, sales-driven Assistant Store Manager to help lead our Spring Step Shoes store at Jersey Shore Premium Outlets.
As Assistant Store Manager, you will partner closely with the Store Manager to drive sales, coach and develop the team, create exceptional customer experiences, and keep daily store operations running smoothly. You’ll be a hands-on leader who leads by example—on the sales floor, with the team, and in delivering the level of service our customers expect from Spring Step Shoes.

What You’ll Do
- Partner with the Store Manager to achieve store sales goals and overall performance objectives.
- Lead by example on the sales floor, actively engaging customers and supporting the team in delivering an exceptional shopping experience.
- Coach, motivate, and develop associates to strengthen selling skills, product knowledge, and customer service.
- Help create a positive, collaborative, and results-driven store culture.
- Monitor key retail performance indicators and identify opportunities to improve individual and team performance.
- Support recruiting, onboarding, training, scheduling, and retention of store associates.
- Provide leadership and direction when the Store Manager is not present.
- Support performance management and associate relations in partnership with the Store Manager and HR.
- Maintain strong visual merchandising and store presentation standards.
- Assist with inventory management, cash handling, opening and closing procedures, and loss prevention.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, operational procedures, and safety standards.
- Support company promotions, product launches, marketing initiatives, and other store programs.
- Maintain appropriate floor coverage while balancing customer service and operational priorities.
What We’re Looking For
- 1+ years of retail leadership, supervisory, key-holder, or comparable retail experience preferred.
- Footwear, fashion, apparel, or specialty retail experience is a plus.
- Strong sales ability with a demonstrated commitment to customer service.
- Experience coaching, motivating, and supporting a retail team.
- Understanding of retail sales goals and performance metrics.
- Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Comfortable using POS systems and basic computer applications.
- Ability to prioritize, delegate, and remain hands-on in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable, professional, approachable, and comfortable taking initiative.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs., climb ladders, and stand or walk for extended periods.
