We are seeking an energetic, customer-focused, and results-driven Store Manager to lead our Spring Step Shoes location at Tanger Outlets Columbus. This is an exciting opportunity for a retail leader who is passionate about developing people, delivering exceptional customer experiences, and driving business results.

As Store Manager, you will oversee all aspects of store operations while inspiring your team to achieve sales goals, build lasting customer relationships, and deliver an outstanding shopping experience. Through strong leadership, coaching, operational excellence, and business analysis, you will play a key role in the continued growth and success of Spring Step Shoes.

What You'll Do

Sales Leadership & Business Performance

  • Lead the store in achieving and exceeding sales goals, profitability targets, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Analyze sales trends, customer traffic, conversion, average transaction value (ATV), units per transaction (UPT), and other performance metrics to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Develop and execute action plans that increase sales, customer engagement, and overall business performance.
  • Promote product knowledge and selling techniques that maximize customer satisfaction and revenue.

Team Leadership & Talent Development

  • Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, train, coach, and develop a high-performing retail team.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and customer-focused work environment built on accountability and teamwork.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and recognition to support employee growth and engagement.
  • Create development opportunities that prepare team members for future leadership roles.

Customer Experience & Brand Excellence

  • Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service and creating memorable shopping experiences.
  • Build customer loyalty through personalized service and meaningful customer relationships.
  • Resolve customer concerns professionally while maintaining the highest standards of service.
  • Ensure the store consistently reflects the Spring Step Shoes brand through outstanding merchandising, cleanliness, and presentation.

Store Operations & Inventory Management

  • Oversee daily store operations, visual merchandising, inventory control, stock replenishment, and operational execution.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts, receiving, stock organization, and loss prevention practices.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, operational standards, cash handling procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Create employee schedules that balance excellent customer service with payroll productivity goals.

Business Operations & Loss Prevention

  • Manage payroll, labor scheduling, operating expenses, and store profitability.
  • Review sales reports, labor reports, inventory performance, and business metrics to support informed decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with company loss prevention policies, inventory audits, and cash management procedures.
  • Support company initiatives, promotional events, and operational improvements while embracing change and continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of retail management experience, including leadership, coaching, and team development.
  • Footwear, fashion, apparel, or specialty retail experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to achieve sales goals and drive business performance.
  • Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience analyzing sales reports, KPIs, and retail business metrics.
  • Experience with POS systems, Microsoft Office, and basic retail technology.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, stand for extended periods, and climb ladders as needed.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing high-volume retail stores.
  • Experience with visual merchandising and inventory management.
  • Experience recruiting, interviewing, and developing retail associates.
  • Passion for footwear, fashion, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
